How can I find out...?

How can I find out what the problem is? I tried to download software from 2 different antivirus companies, and haven't been able to do it either time. This computer was given to me.

try typing the word virus or antivirus in goole and try to search.. u wont even be able to do so...

its a virus there

borrow an antivirus cd from a friend and install it and then run it in safe mode....

if it wont let u even install an antivirus from other source then use any other security tool already installed on ur pc...

if u dont have any other tool installed then

Try finding out what is starting up when u boot ur pc...

Try msconfig utility

start-run

type msconfig

click startup Tab

see if there is anything which seems suspecious....

if yes then uncheck it and press ok

now i think u will be able to download and scan for virus..

BEFORE Doing allllllllllllllll that troubleshoot please check ur network connection..... it may be a network problem. or it may be that antivirus u r searching is not available..

First try if u can google the word "antivirus" or "virus"
