I recently downloaded a .jpg from LimeWire and I think its a virus can anyone tell me how to delete

I have tryed my Norton AntiVirus and it wont take it off there, I have tried Spybot-Search and Destroy, I deleted LimeWire but, the file is still there and the program is gone, I have tried to delete the file, drag the file into my recycling bin, search for the file and delete it and lastly run my Windows XP in Safe Mode to try and delete it and all of them say " Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please tell Microsoft about this problem. To see error report".... and this is what it says "AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: ntdll.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 00031c6b." I send the report and nobody has contacted me so how is that supposed to help lol... Then it closes the program and i have to restore my wallpaper and now my LimeWire does'nt work ither even after re-installing.
