Open limewire, go to tools%26gt;options%26gt;advance%26gt;firewall option and untick "System Startup -" i.e. to start when windows start.

Reboot and then try to uninstall from "add/remove program".

If it fails, it is serious problem. Did you downloading software from untrusted source instead of limewire website. If it was, the program you have install may contain virus, spyware, backdoor etc.

MAYBE TRY SYSTEM RESTORE.........
It could still be running in the background as a hidden process. Try going to your task manager (ctrl - alt - delete) and find a process that looks unfamilular to you. Use common sense, and look for letters that would look abnormal. Like lmwr.exe, lw.exe, etc...

it's in use because someone else is downloading the partial file on your computer -- kill the uploader process in the upload tab and then try to delete it

Right-Click on it and click "Exit"
