When I go to google.com it takes like 30 seconds to load then it comes up as "This page cannot be displayed." I had my step-dad's brother take a look at my computer, since his job is working with computers, and he found a virus in a "hosts" document. He said the only way to terminate the virus would be to clear the hardrive and reinstall Windows 2000. My dad couldn't actually clear the whole hardrive, because he didn't have all the discs to reinstall, yet he did download AVG, an antivirus program. Now when I view the hosts document the virus doesn't show up, so I figured it was gone. However, I still cannot visit the Google homepage. Can someone help me out?

check to make sure your security is not set too high or your firewalls disable all and then see if you can to to google
