What do you know about "Trojan.ByteVerify" Virus?

My Norton Antivirus detected this on my system. It said it fully resovled the problem. I can't figure out how it got there. I am very careful about opening email and I don't download anything suspicious. Anybody have an idea about how this virus is spread? Also, can anybody tell me what it actually does? I appreciate all answers. Thanks.

Trojan.ByteVerify is a trojan that exploits the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine Bytecode Verifier Vulnerability (BID 6221) to execute on a vulnerable system. It may change the Internet Explorer start page and add links to the Favorites folder.
Uh it's a Trojan so it's not good! Theres so many trojans made everyday that it could me doing anything. Just try and get rid of it. There no good thats for sure!

You have the latest version of JRE?
Ok, I could point you to the URL already listed, but for many, the language in that could just as easily be in Romulan or Martian.
