is this true??

i just downloaded AVG free edition antivirus and there were quite a few .exe files in it.. please help =)

if you have software with a start button, it will do something ...

... that is good for an anti-virus program...

... but bad if it is an email with a picture or information only. They are the ones you have to watch out for

.exe are executional files and are commonly used by computer programs, but they can be viruses. If you downloaded this file from the vendor's website, then it should be safe. If you got it from anywhere else like limewire, edonkey... then don't open it.
