have upgraded to vista, since then have no sound,been trying to download drives via; manuf. nvidia and other places to no success, how do i get the sound back, have also tried to turn off pc utilities antivirus without success, it now says out of date, can someone help.

nvidia don't make audio cards therefore they don't have your driver.
Is it onboard audio? My better judgment tells me you have no clue.

Go to start, control panel,performance and maintainance, system, hardware,device manager and look for your sound device, which should have a yellow circle with a black exclamation mark on it. Right click this and update drivers. It will ask if you want to download it from the net. Just click yes, let it update, re boot when finished and it should be ok.
Do a hardware search in the control panel to see if it is installed properly. If you have added a drive check to see the software in installed.
